Επιστολή Δημάρχου Πωγωνίου στον Αρχιεπίσκοπο Ιερώνυμο για τη Βελλά

Επιστολή στο Μακαριώτατο Αρχιεπίσκοπο κ.κ. Ιερώνυμο σχετικά με την Ανώτατη Εκκλησιαστική Ακαδημία Βελλάς Ιωαννίνων απέστειλε ο Δήμαρχος Πωγωνίου κ. Κων/νος Καψάλης. Η επιστολή έχει ως εξής:

 

«Μακαριώτατε,

Αποτελεί για όλους μας δυσάρεστη έκπληξη η αποδοχή, από την πλευρά της Ιεράς Συνόδου, της απόφασης της Κυβέρνησης για κλείσιμο της Εκκλησιαστικής Σχολής Βελλάς και παύση της δραστηριότητάς της ως Ανώτατη Εκκλησιαστική Ακαδημία.

Πρόκειται για την αρχαιότερη Εκκλησιαστική Σχολή που στην πολύχρονη λειτουργία της έχει προσφέρει ποικιλοτρόπως στην ελληνική κοινωνία κι έχει αποδώσει εκατοντάδες κληρικούς και λαϊκούς αποφοίτους

Για την ακριτική περιοχή του Πωγωνίου δε, αποτελεί σημείο αναφοράς και πολλοί από εμάς έχουμε την χαρά και την τιμή να αποτελούμε μέλος της μεγάλης οικογένειας των Βελλαϊτών.

Όπως είχαμε επισημάνει και σε σχετική επιστολής μας στην Υπουργό Παιδείας κ. Κεραμέως, σε μία εποχή που η Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία προσπαθεί να δημιουργήσει  Ιερατικές – Εκκλησιαστικές Σχολές στα πέρατα του κόσμου, η επικείμενη κατάργηση της Ανώτατης Εκκλησιαστικής Εκπαίδευσης στην Ελλάδα αποτελεί πρόταση που αφενός δεν εξυπηρετεί κανέναν σκοπό κι αφετέρου θα έχει δυσμενείς συνέπειες για τη διακονία της Εκκλησίας.

Θα αναμέναμε, λοιπόν, μία συντονισμένη προσπάθεια από την πλευρά της Κυβέρνησης αλλά και της Εκκλησίας για ανάδειξη της προσφοράς της Βελλάς ώστε να συνεχίσει το σπουδαίο εκπαιδευτικό της έργο.

Η Ανώτατη Εκκλησιαστική Σχολή Βελλάς όχι μόνο δεν πρέπει να καταργηθεί αλλά αντιθέτως θα πρέπει να ενισχυθεί με οιονδήποτε τρόπο ώστε να συνεχίσει να αποτελεί «φάρο» της θρησκευτικής μας παράδοσης και της ελληνικής παιδείας.
